What to include
For most visitors the biggest cost is a return taxi from Shillong, including the time the driver waits at the canyon. Add parking or entry charges (confirm them on arrival), food and water, and a local guide if you plan a valley walk. Leave a little extra for a stop in Smit and for delays.
Getting comparable taxi quotes
Ask each operator for a total price for the whole vehicle that states the vehicle size, pickup point, waiting time, extra stops, parking and any driver charges. Compare those totals, not per-person figures that assume a full car, and enter the quote you accept in the calculator above.
